WINDWARD SETS SAIL WITH FILM SLATE

Windward Pictures launched its 2023 development slate with adventurous stories that “focus on an equal measure of style and substance,” said Windward president, Ann Hayward Sparks.

The company has set its sights on such fare as the live-action fantasy franchise “Legend of the Glass Mountain,” family adventure “By the Sea,” and the romantic comedy “Mr. X-Periment,” a mid-winter night’s dream on skis.

Also in the works, Sparks parlays adventure into three TV series pilots. “Our TV series cover a spectrum of genres as well.” The science-based “Knights Errant” is a mystery/adventure dramedy. “Reverend in Blue Jeans” follows the pattern of heart-warming family comedy/drama, and “I Byde My Tyme” gives a nod to mystery and family drama.

Sparks says the feature projects are being readied for the American Film Market held in November. “We hope to build credibility with quality projects. Our stories are high-concept, yet they also embody sensitivity and depth:

— high adventure with compassion at the core.”

Windward Pictures is repped by Steve Fayne of Aiken Gump.
